Yr 6 WW2 Day

4th April 2017

On Tuesday 4th April Year 6 went back in time to the 1940s for their World War Two day! The children looked fantastic as they came into school dressed in their wartime attire. We culminated our project by learning about rationing and VE day. Each class made Carrot Cookies and their own medals using clay and felt. The sunshine came out after lunch and we finished the day with a magnificent street party. The children enjoyed a feast of cucumber sandwiches as well as their Carrot Cookies which were delicious! They also got to show off their swing dance skills in a Year 6 swing dance off! A fantastic day was had by all, thank you to everyone who participated.
