Yr 6 WW2 at Tyntesfield

5th November 2019
On Tuesday, Year 6 went to Tyntesfield. As our topic is World War 2, we learned lots of amazing facts about how children were evacuated to Tyntesfield House. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly volunteers who walked us to our workshop. Our first activity was learning about the different roles that they used to play at Tyntesfield such as the WLA (woman’s land army) red cross nurses and the children who were evacuated. After that we were taken to Tyntesfields house. After lunch everyone was excited for the next activity, which was all about rationing. We made carrot fudge and learned about fabric rationing. What a great trip!
