Yr 6 evacuation to Worle

9th November 2018
We waved goodbye to our Year 6’s as they were evacuated to Worle at 9.15am this morning, under the command of Major Hamish McDougal ........

The vintage buses wended their way through Somerset lanes and villages to the Worle Village Primary School where our city evacuees were greeted by the local village children of Worle.  Having observed 2 minutes silence at the semitaph and seen evidence of where even the village of Worle had been hit from aerial attack in the war, the evacuees then had the priviledge of meeting WW2 veterans - an actual evacuee, a WW2 navigator and a pigeon fancier!  It was a day to remember!
