Yr 5 Ancient Greek Day

16th May 2017

Tuesday saw Year 5 transformed into the splendour of Ancient Greece for the day. The children looked fantastic as they arrived at school with their togas and shields and they got stuck into their first activity; writing using the Ancient Greek alphabet and using Greek numbers to solve puzzles. After break, we learnt about the Olympic games and competed in a few of our own events. The most sporting competitor from each class was even awarded a laurel wreath crown. We finished the day with a feast – a huge thank you to Marcos’ mum for coming and sharing her knowledge about Greek food and for helping us to make some tzatziki to add to our feast.

A fantastic day was had by everyone.
