Yr 3/4 and 5/6 Aquathalon

22nd April 2016

87 children from Christ Church School had an exciting and energetic day on Friday 22nd April, taking part in the multi schools Aquathlon event hosted by Clifton College.

This year the competition was split into two parts with Year 3/4 participating in the morning, followed by Year 5/6 in the afternoon. Children were partaking in either the 'Try-an-Aquathlon' or the 'Race-an-Aquathlon', both events including a swim and then a run.  Years 3 & 4 swum 50m and ran 500m and Years 5 & 6 swum 100m and ran 1000m.

It was a highly organised and well supported event.  A number of children were nervous before hand, but threw themselves into it, and were then so proud of their acheivement and said that they were looking forward to next year's event!  They particularly enjoyed the hot chocolate and biscuit at the end!

Year 3 did particularly well as their first year competing in the event and coming away with medals and placements in both the boys and girls events.

We were proud of our Years 5 & 6 who participated with passion and commitment despite the weather turning particularly unsupportive!
