Roald Dahl 100 Celebrations

13th September 2016
On Tuesday 13th September the children and staff at Christ Church had a Dahl-licious day celebrating the 100th birthday of Roald Dahl.

The day began with an assembly. The hall was filled with all our favourite characters from Roald Dahl's superb books. The children learnt all about Roald Dahl and his work before being treated to extracts from George's Marvellous Medicine, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Twits. The children loved hearing the teacher's read extracts of his fantastic work. The highlight had to have been the extract when Bruce (Mr Eades) had to eat chocolate cake in front of the whole school community thanks to the very frightening Miss Trunchbull (Miss Barsby)

Each class had a super day immersed in the work of Roald Dahl. Thank you everyone for the fantastic effort that you all put in. It was a really great way to start the new term.
