Reception Aquarium Visit

8th May 2017

On Monday, both Reception classes headed down to Bristol Aquarium for a visit as part of our 'Under the Sea' topic. We started our day with a guided tour around the aquarium with team members Tom and Vicky who were full of interesting facts about the many animals that live there. We found out that lobsters shed their shells and eat them afterwards, that crabs can wee through their eyes and that there are some fish at the aquarium who feed on the eyes of other fish! We also had chance to hold a shark's egg and touch some very pointy sharp teeth. After a stop for lunch we then spent some time at the largest tank to complete an observational drawing of the many different creatures we could see such as rays, eels, sharks and the coral reef that is their home. What a busy start to the week!
