I'm a Year 6 Get Me Out of Here!
21st July 2016
"One of, if not THE best leavers' assemblies I've ever seen." - The Guardian
"Performances worthy of the West End." - Time Out
"The impersonations of the staff were spot on." - Bill
Thursday's one-off performance of the Year 6 Leavers' Assembly went down a storm and the performers were met with rapturous applause. Despite a mightily disrupted rehearsal schedule, the Year 6 children handled things like professionals and pulled off a sumptuous, almost flawless show to end their time at Christ Church with a flourish.
From the set design to the choreography, no expense had been spared in ensuring that the show was of the highest quality. Concerns about the satirical contents of the show were quickly and deftly handled in the signing of a short disclaimer, admonishing the children and teachers of any responsibility for any offense caused. In fact, everything was incredibly well-received and audience members could be seen weeping, even in the cheap seats.
When it came time for the inevitable before and after baby photos, that was when the tears really began to flow, as the realisation that the children's time at Christ Church was almost up started to truly sink in.
The children were incredible and, as they have been all year, a credit to the school. This one will indeed go down in CC history. Bravo, children, bravo.
Well done to all of our Year 6 leavers who have been an amazing group of children to work with. It is with great sadness that we say farewell, but it is also with excitement that we wish them well for the their futures and all the opportunities which they have yet to experience.
Our year 6 leavers this year go on to the following schools, but we hope will pop in and see us at Christ Church whenever they are passing. Au Revoir Year 6 :
