French Day!

4th July 2018
On Wednesday we had a French Day!

Under the direction of their French Chef Jean Marc, our caterers, AiP produced an amazing lunch - poulet basquaise, pomme de terre sautees, haricot vert and petit pois. Children were encouraged to try a variety of french cheeses from a tasty looking cheeseboard, and finish up with a delicious apple pie (tarte aux pommes)! Empty plates hit the clearing station with children walking away saying ‘yummy yummy’! Children at the dining tables were vying for who knew the most french or had been to france the most times!

Year 5 were lucky enough to have a crepe making workshop with Jean Marc. The children were very excited as they mixed up the batter (which we found out has exactly the same ingredients as English Yorkshire Pudding!), then all had a chance to cook and flip the crepes, before filling them with delicious toppings of fruit or lemon and sugar! They learnt the recipe in French and should all now be experts!

yummy yummy! délicieux!
