This school year we have already raised enough money to fund a new KS1 ICT suite, pay for the coaches for all of the class trips to Beggar Bush Lane, buy a class set of 30 Chrome books and make a contribution towards the Year 6 Leavers hoodies.


We are now raising funds to purchase a set of 30 ipads which will cost approx. £9,000.


Next school year we are hoping to have an event incorporating an auction and are keen to hear from anyone who can offer a really amazing item, we are thinking holiday apartment, balloon flight, experience day etc.


Minutes from Christ Church PTA Meetings
The PTA is a charitable organisation that aims to enrich the experiences of both the children and families of Christ Church School. All parents, carers and teachers are automatically members of the Association.

The PTA has two main roles:
  • to raise money to pay for additional items or experiences that the school suggest and that will enhance learning, playtimes or the school environment; 
  • to organise activities, and fundraisers for the children, families and staff of Christ Church School and so foster the growth of our School community.
All parents, carers and teachers are warmly invited to participate actively in the PTA. So whether it's serving on the committee, planning activities or helping out at events, we will welcome anybody who would like to get involved.

Being part of the PTA is a rewarding and fun way to contribute to, and be involved in, the School community. It gives you the opportunity to meet other families, to work as a team and to have the satisfaction of a child’s smile at the completion of successful events. We are ordinary parents and teachers who get together to do extraordinary things for the benefit of the children.

Each Class in the school also has a Class Rep who will organise volunteers for events and help to keep you informed of PTA events. If you are unsure who your Class Rep is, please do ask your Class Teacher.

Summer Fair 2016
The Summer Fair on Sunday 26 June was a very jolly affair - in spite of the relentless drizzle! PTA stalwart, Vicky Hayden, led a stellar cast of volunteers (including husband Colin, the Bunting King, pictured) who ensured the afternoon's festivities ran smoothly. New for 2016 were the 'chair-o-planes' ride and the bungee trampoline, both of which proved very popular with the children.
Another new addition to the line-up was the 'Adopt-a-Teddy' stall, spearheaded by PTA chair Lizzie Snelling, which saw pre-loved soft toys spruced up and matched with new owners. Other highlights included the beautifully decorated Arts & Crafts stall, traditional funfair games, such as the coconut shy and tug-o-war, and delicious burgers cooked to perfection by Christ Church's BBQ Dads.
A delightful soundtrack was provided by the school choir, led by Mrs Petters, who also refereed the water balloon catching competition (pictured). In total, the fair raised over £1,400 which was put towards the cost of the new Trim Trail (the timber playground equipment in front of the Year 6 classrooms).

Christ Church Campfest
Christ Church's Campfest is fast becoming the big family social event of the year. Held over a weekend at the end of the Summer term and located just across the Clifton Suspension Bridge, on the training grounds of Cotham Rugby Club, families from school can pop in just for the day, stay for a night or join the hardcore crew and brave the whole weekend!! With plenty of outdoor space for free-range children and an excellent provision of activities and super tasty food and drink, what more could you possibly want?
Some of the amazing activities this year included:
  • Street Dance Workshop 5mile Treasure Hunt, through the beautiful Leigh Woods
  • Obstacle courses
  • Impromptu Zumba workout
  • Open air disco - revelatory!
  • Outdoor cinema
Other attractive features of the weekend, namely food and drink:
  • Delicious homemade supper
  • Tasty cooked breakfast
  • Endless supply of tea, coffee and cake
  • Top notch BBQ, with all the trimmings
  • Excellent bar with seemingly endless supplies of Pimms!
What a hoot. Families of pupils and teachers are all welcome. The brilliant Campfest Team do everything they can to make sure there is something for everyone and the main objective is to for all involved have fun. The photos speak for themselves.
Fundraising 2015/16

November saw the arrival of the new computers which the PTA have bought for the school and which the children are enjoying using.
