How the subject is taught at Christ Church
Where possible, the children will visit local galleries such as the RWA, Bristol Museum or the M-Shed to see exhibitions such as the Wildlife Photography Exhibition.
The children’s fantastic artistic talents are celebrated in our bi-annual art exhibition which is part of the West Bristol Arts Trail.
Opportunities for the application of maths, literacy and computing skills
Art is often linked to geography or history projects – such as the Vikings or The Stone Age.
Our Literacy units which involve the ‘Power or Reading’, often start with art work which represents characters or settings. This art work can be found in the children’s green literacy books.
