1CP Visit to the Downs

6th October 2016

Class 1CP went ‘spider spotting’ on the Downs with Mandy and Anna from the Avon Wildlife Trust. First of all we found out that spiders are invertebrates and have an exoskeleton and we also found out about the different types of webs that spiders make – tunnel, sheet and orb! Then we went off into the woods armed with our spray bottles to find some spiders and their webs. We enjoyed looking for the different kinds of webs and finding out the differences between insects and arachnids!
